THE RETURN 2009
Chapter 1: The Departure Not only did he manage to infultrate our world and our lives, he also wormed his way into the leadership of our church. His lies worked in perfect harmony with his truths. His honeyed tongue seduced and marvaled those willing to be seduced by his false charm. His decetful words made the eyes and ears of all those who wanted to see and hear as he did look their noses down the truth. I stood there, gazing intently at all of those I had allowed entry into my heart. I gazed at the mass faces of all of those whom I had given my all to, Mind, body and soul. They all betrayed me along with him, they would not meet my gaze, they couldn’t. They knew they were wrong, but it did not matter, they made their decision and would now have to live with it. They, along with him, brought down the house of God where I worshiped, where I served my God with all of me. It was then that an inexplicable rage entered me. A burning fury that I had no control over. Unfortunately, the fire that consumed me was not of the Lord, but a fire and rage that eminated from deep within my soul, coliding with my shreded emotions. It was then that I said to hell with all of this and turned my back on the church and all the people who made up the assemply of hypocrites and liars. My Salvation, my Spiritual journey, forgotten. I became pure hate. But I did not walk away alone. The fury that consumed me, also consumed the hearts of those who stalked beside me, my pastor and his family. How could this have happened? How could God allow this wheat, this tear to rise among us and allow the devil to work his poison and destroy what we had labored to painstakingly build. How could he win? I asked myself these very questions over and over again, but the answers would not come to me, at least, not now.
WOW… thanks everyone for the feedback. Your advice and suggestions are much appreciated. This is my first attempt in writing and I wanted to know if I was any good at it. I will keep the post up a little longer to see what else I might learn. Thanks again!
Resolved Question: Good collar for a sighthound?
We have two new additions to our house hold, Moki and Audi. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s102/kleotide/Picture001.jpg Aren’t they lovely? (I love my whippets) Anyway! They came to us with their own collars, but I don’t think their last owner really had time to walk them much, mostly letting them get their energy out in the back yard. Since I have started walking them I think that their collars may be pulling on their skin a bit, and as such the hair on their neck is getting stripped. (They walk with a loose leash, and the collars are fitted correctly, but that doesn’t stop them from wanting to chase small fury things). So I am looking for a good collar replacement for them. I know martingale collars are good, a few people have said that a wide leather collar should help. (Not sure if I should go with leather though.. I’m nervous about is rubbing their neck funny). So now I look toward all of you for help. Where can I go for a good durable martingale collar? Do you know of any great websites? I don’t mind paying a fair amount, as long as they are durable (I’d rather pay for something once and spend a bit more, than have to replace it all the time), and will be gentle on their necks. If you have any other random suggestions feel free to share. ![]()
Thank you in advance.
Resolved Question: Does this sound like the Jesus you say you believe in?
II Th 1:7-10
7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
(KJV) Isa 63:1-6
1Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
2Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
3I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
4For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
5And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
6And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
(KJV) Zech 14:2-5
2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
(KJV) Zech 14:12
12And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
(KJV) Rev 19:11-21
11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
(KJV)
Resolved Question: Do the first paragraphs from my story succeed in evoking good imagery and pulling you in?
If you can also tell me what you think of the character’s personality from what you can tell so far, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Chapter 1 As I walk through the forest, I close my eyes and breathe in the musky scent of ancient wood, reminding me of lives I like to imagine I once lived. A splintered branch in my hand drunkenly trails along the wizened faces of trees that once stood straight, and I imagine them purring as I stroke them in my wake, like a satisfied cat. I’ve always been afraid, ever since I began venturing these woods that surrounds our residence a few months ago, that the trees would fall and crush me. They all seem to kneel north, as if a violent wind once forced them all to pray in that direction, their hands pointing heavenward, offering their fruits to the sky. In between their closely spaced barks, sunlight finds the earthen floor, illuminating the reds, browns, and oranges of leaves that had seen better days. I have always been fond of these walks I take when Mother goes out and has no knowledge of; it’s the only form of escape I have from the worries of life. I love hearing the robins sing, love the ancient moss-covered oaks, and all of nature and its unprecedented beauty. But, since all good things ultimately come to an end for me, so these walks shall, too. Mother has found me. If someone had been watching this scene from afar, they would think my mother and I have only just found each other, after all these years searching. Our eyes are both as wide as an owl; mine in shock, hers in fury. She doesn’t have to scold me. She doesn’t have to drag me with her like a child. She points to the general direction of our house and I follow dumbly, like a little chick would follow mother goose. Part of me wants to run, but I know that if I act on that impulse, the trouble I would be in would me more than twice as bad if I am found. This silence speaks volumes of loathing and betrayal, it’s unsettling. I am so stupid. I am so stupid, I am so stupid, I – am- so – stupid. How could I mistake the sound of crackling branches for a raccoon? The barks begin to spread out more freely now, and the light here is much brighter. We are close to home. It’s foolish of me to cry for my own stupidity, but I can’t help it. Swallowing hard, I give my own personal Wonderland one last glance and wave good-bye. An unexpected breeze blows through the forest, and the leaves sway from side to side, returning my parting gesture.

Resolved Question: Can you correct the grammar on this script?
Renaissance Script Willis and Elizabeth were playing a game when the town crier showed up and announced, “Brothers and sisters of the town, disaster has struck one of our neighboring villages! The entire village is currently under flames. A vast number of people are dead.”
“Oh no”, Elizabeth gasped. “Janice”
“JANICE!” Willis exclaimed. “Fear not, my fellow community! I will build another town!” Willis started running toward the burnt village but the town crier stopped him.
“You shall not pass, it is much too dangerous! Plus, you are poor as dirt. I will now read out who as left us. Susan, Mandy, Walter, Janice, Ma-“
“JANICE! WHAAAAA SHE DIED?! MY TRUE AND ONLY LOVE!” Willis sobbed and banged on the ground in fury. Before anyone else could act, Willis ran past the town crier with Elizabeth close behind.
“Wait, Willis! You have no idea what you are doing!” Elizabeth called after him. They ran far into the forest and came across a weird looking house. The gypsy was sitting on her mossy porch staring into her crystal ball.
“Awimbaway, eeeeee Awimbaway…” she chanted. “Uh, what are you doing?” asked Willis
“Iz looking at ze futuree”
“Can you bring her back?” Willis wondered
“Who iz ze person zat you are speaking of?”
“Janice, she died in the fire down the road”.
“Ah, you must look for her soul flying to heaven” the gypsy explained while rubbing her crystal ball. “How will I know that it is her soul?” Willis inquired.
“Her soul will be in the form of a butterfly”.
“Ok, thank you Mrs. Gypsy person” Willis said while running down the street.
